From today, the eleven MotoGP teams have already forgotten the 2024 season and turned towards 2025. From 10 a.m. this morning, the pre-season tests began under the same conditions as the Barcelona Grand Prix, competed last weekend. During this day of driving, the pilots were able to familiarize themselves with their new bike. Among the whole group, Marc Marquez and Jorge Martin were at the heart of the spotlight, the two Spaniards changed color. The blood red Ducati for the native of Cervera and the Aprilia for the new world champion, the “Martinator”.
During these 7 hours of testing, the teams tested new parts on the machines, in order to measure the rate of performance gain. One of the most surprising concepts on the set was the KTM. The Austrian brand stood out from other machines with a strong reduction in the front part of the Motorcycle, the screen is much more restricted. For the moment, nothing is fixed yet, the look of this new prototype can still be modified. At the limit during certain moments, Jorge Martin and Enea Bastianini made mistakes in the gravel trap, at the start of turn five.
In terms of time, it was Alex Marquez who set the best time in 1:38:803, ahead of Fabio Quartararo and Francesco Bagnaia with a gap of +0.4 to +0.6 tenths ahead of the Spaniard's Gresini. For our second French driver, Johann Zarco finished his session in seventh more than +0.8 tenths behind the leaders.
