KTM remains a powerhouse in motorcycling talent development, actively nurturing young riders through its initiatives and programs in the lower categories. Pedro Acosta is the latest KTM rider to move up to MotoGP, and he is widely considered a future championship contender.
This year, David Alonso broke records in Moto3. Although not directly linked to KTM, he races for CFMOTO Aspar, and as is known, CFMOTO has a partnership with Pierer Mobility Group, which also encompasses KTM.
During a program on ServusTV, KTM sporting director Pit Beirer admitted that Alonso is on their radar. Former pilot Alex Hoffmann, also on the show, said:
– I think Pit Beirer thinks it would be good to have Acosta and Alonso together in MotoGP. But it's also important for KTM to recognize that it's a process. At the moment there are four Ducati riders who are faster. But they take care of the rest at breakfast.
