MotoGP, Australia J3, Enea Bastianini (Ducati/5): “I can’t be happy”

Enea Bastianini, after a strong performance in the Sprint race where he finished third, was hoping for much more from the “long” Australian Grand Prix race at Phillip Island. Bastianini did not hide his disappointment after the race. Speaking to Sky Sport, he declared: “
I had higher expectations,
but from the first round, I didn’t feel comfortable. It was a shame not to be able to attack. My front kept closingand it didn’t go as I hoped. » This frustration was exacerbated by the fact that he expected a better performance after good feelings during the Sprint et you Warm Up.

The Italian driver explained that he encountered problems from the first laps: “ I expected it to be fast from the start, but I had a lot of trouble in the first laps. And when I was alone, it was even worse. »

Enea Bastianini: « Pecco Bagnaia had the same problems »

He also interacted with Pecco Bagnaiahis teammate, who encountered similar difficulties. “ We talked after the race, and Pecco had the same concerns
“, he added.

Enea Bastianini nearly crashed several times, forcing him to adjust his riding style to avoid taking too many risks. “ The front of the bike was strange, and I avoided falls several times in the middle of the turns. In the end, I decided not to push too hard and to see if things would improve, but it hasn’t changed “, he explained. It was only in the last two laps that he was able to push a little more, but it was not enough to improve his final result.

The pilot
