Moto3 Japan Qualifying: Ivan Ortola in another dimension!

Moto3 qualifying is over in Japan! While David Alonso (CFMoto Aspar Team) is in a position to win the world title tomorrow, his opponents are moving heaven and earth to delay the deadline. Clearly, it will be difficult, if not impossible, to stop the Colombian. In any case, until now, he has been rather fast in all circumstances. He was fastest in FP, the introductory session, and was among the front runners in P1. In this last session, on the other hand, Ivan Ortola (KTM MT Helmets MSi) stood out even more by shattering the previous lap record. In any case, we had to watch the outsiders, and keep an eye on Daniel Holgado (Red Bull GasGas Tech3), in difficulty until now. Earlier in the morning, during P2, Angel Piqueras (Honda Leopard Racing) stood out in the rain, in a session which did not upset the pre-established order during P1. His teammate Adrian Fernandez was no less dangerous.

Even if you already know the outcome of this session, come relive it with us! Before we begin, here is a table which summarizes the known facts :

The rain has stopped, and everything looks dry. Here we go!

A few moments later, Stefano Nepa takes the lead, while Scott Ogden (Honda MLav Racing) in turn interferes in the all-important top 4.

Eventually, David Munoz regains his first position and concludes this Q1 in the lead. Stefano Nepa is second, just ahead Taiyo Furusato et Riccardo Rossi (KTM CIP Green Power). Joel Esteban (CFMoto Aspar Team) is the first to be eliminated.
