MotoAmerica – Herrin wants to keep Baz by his side in 2025

Arriving in New Jersey with a 46-point lead in the MotoAmerica Superbike championship, Josh Herrin won his second title in the category, eleven years after the first. Throughout the weekend, No. 2 continued to emphasize the valuable support of his French garage neighbor, Loris Baz, whom he hopes to find at his side in 2025.

Josh Herrin, the new MotoAmerica Superbike champion, was titled this weekend after a tense Race 1 at New Jersey Motorsports Park. An event that he completed in the lead, to celebrate this triumph in the best possible way.

Teammate of the French driver, Loris Baz, Herrin’s first words upon arrival were aimed at the relationship he has with the latter. Considering the Frenchman as much more than just a teammate, the new number 1 did not fail to emphasize all weekend that he wanted to stay by his side next year, as their relationship pushes him to become better.

“I don’t like answering this question because it makes it seem like I didn’t like my other teammates,
confides the latter when asked if Baz was the best garage neighbor he had in his career. If I could choose a teammate out of all the teammates I’ve had in my entire career, yes, Loris would be the guy I would choose. It’s not like I’ve had terrible teammates, but Loris has been the best teammate I’ve ever had, and one I’ve enjoyed life with. Along with his girlfriend, Joyce, they help me with a lot of things. I hope next year will be the same. »

While the tricolor above all sought not to bother Herrin during the Saturday race, knowing that the latter was playing for the title, he defended body and soul his pole position the next day, to achieve his first victory in MotoAmerica.

“I’m so happy that Loris won today,
Herrin then blurted out. It had to happen for the team, and it was just a super special moment. Thanks to everyone involved in this project for making the year as awesome as it was. »

A relationship that the No. 76 also appreciates, who also expressed his wish to retain his place in the Warhorse Racing Ducati structure in 2025 after finishing on this positive note.

“I am so proud of what we have done as a team this season, but especially since the last meeting in Austin, he adds. I want to thank Team Principal Bobby Shek, Ducati North America and Warhorse HSBK Racing because they gave me the chance to return to America after my 2021 season.”

“This weekend was different within the team. Maybe it was less pressure because Josh won the title, but we worked very well on this track. I knew I was close to winning a race this year, but I’m so happy I finally did it. I really want to come back next year with this team. I love everyone on this team” concludes Loris Baz.
