The incredible transformation of a former racer

The story is unusual to say the least.

If you carefully follow the different categories of the MotoGP world championship, you undoubtedly rememberAxel Pons.

Son of Spanish legend Sito Pons, Axel Pons has started in the 125 cm3 category in 2008 before moving up to 250 cm3 (2009), then Moto2 in 2010. An intermediate category frequented until his sporting retirement in 2017 where he was able to meet rivals like Marc Marquez, Francesco Bagnaia, Maverick Viñales, Johann Zarco or mother Fabio Quartararo.

Following his retirement from the circuits, the former Spanish driver became a professional model for a time, before opting for a radically different way of life.

A radical life change for the former rider

For three years, Axel Pons travels the world barefoot. Having left Spain, he reached Pakistan in 15 months: « What was the point of living life at such a fast pace? I began to go slower and slower, until I began to move through the world slowly, appreciating the details of life. We only had the desire to perfect union with Allah or God, and this is our way of praying and practicing: walking. »

Found by chance in a video posted on Youtube this summer, Axel Pons explains his incredible transformation, in quest for spirituality. An unexpected destiny for this former great Spanish motorcycle hope.
