MotoGP Japan J2, Fabio Di Giannantonio (Ducati Q7/S6) : « Use less drugs »

In Japan, Fabio Di Giannantonio is still fighting pain. Injured in the shoulder since Austria, the latter is slow to recover, and seriously handicapped him in Misano as well as in Mandalika, where it was very hot. Motegi’s cooler conditions may be helping, but by all accounts ‘Diggia’ is feeling much better. After placing seventh in Q2, he even scraped a position during the race, which he again finished ahead of his teammate Marco Bezzecchi. Is this already the return of Di Giannantonio in full progress that we have been waiting for for some time?

The Italian was very happy with his own performance at the finish of this Sprint. “We had a very good race. The pace was good, but the Desmosedici GP24s are running even harder, it’s difficult to attack them » he pressed GPone. In Indonesia, Marco Bezzecchi actually explained the differences between the old and new versions of the Ducati.

His injury, which was very debilitating in the Indonesian heat, seems to be easing. Of course, everything is not resolved yet, but there is improvement. « I’m happy to be closer to the leaders, I have more natural driving and I use less medication. There are many positive aspects to this day” he continued. The overseas tour is not the best time of the season to get injured, with the races coming one after the other. Fortunately, after Motegi, “Diggia” will be able to take two weeks off to breathe before Phillip Island.

Tomorrow remains a question for all the drivers, especially with the weather as changeable as at the Twin Ring Motegi.
« We’ll see what happens. You will have to be careful not to use a compound that is too soft, because to turn like the GP24, you have to put a lot of support in the turns, which leads to wear. We will judge during the warm-up, and we will try to make the best choice” he concluded.
