days remain through the weekend, tracking the next fall front

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – The Rest of Today: Much of the same remains today, with cooler mornings warming to the 90s by the afternoon. Today’s high should top right around the 90 degree mark underneath clear and sunny skies. Temperatures will steadily climb back down into the 70s, making for a cool and comfortable evening.

Weekend Outlook

The days continue into the weekend, with cool mornings in the low 60s and warming into the low 90s by the afternoon. With the warm and sunny afternoons, make sure to stay hydrated and wear sunscreen if you will be out tailgating for the LSU homecoming game. Temperature wills fall nicely to the low 80s for kickoff and continue to drop into the low 70s by the end of the game.

The next fall front

Daytime highs are still toasty in the low 90s, which is above normal for this time of year. But we’re looking ahead to the first real fall front of the year, expected to arrive on Tuesday. Behind the front, highs could drop to the 70s, and we may see lows in the low 50s.

Extended Outlook

The stretch of pleasant sunny and dry days remains through the extended forecast. Afternoon temperatures stay in the low 90s through Monday ahead of our next fall front to help cool us down slightly below average for the middle latter part of next week. Rain chances don’t make an appearance until beyond the next seven days.
