Longer high pressure situation in sight – Tegernseerstimme

Remnants of Tropical Storm Kirk moved through the county this week. In the valley you could only feel a gentle breeze. The coming week is now starting sunny.

This week, the remnants of tropical storm “Kirk” moved through the district. The Schaftlach weatherman Hans Wildermuth knows: “It only made itself noticeable in the Tegernsee Valley through a “foehn-like, mild breeze.” The storm remained further west; “Where, for example, 157 km/h wind speed was measured on the Feldberg in the Black Forest.” After all the storms have passed, cooler, but not really cold, sea air has prevailed here. “There will be a final disruption in her on Sunday,” says Wildermuth.

Saturday will then be quite cloudy, but dry. According to Wildermuth, warmer air is prevailing again at altitude, but this is not really noticeable near the ground with a maximum temperature of under 15 degrees. The weatherman further emphasizes: “Late in the evening, as the disturbance passes, it starts to rain well into the night.” Sunday morning is supposed to be pretty wet. “The rain from the night continues initially but stops after noon. The temperature barely gets above ten degrees in the temporarily influx of colder air,” the weatherman continues.

Tuesday brings a warm front from the west

A high pressure influence will then take hold in the new week, which could, for once, last longer. Wildermuth explains: “Monday will therefore be quite sunny and with a maximum temperature of just over ten degrees, corresponding to the season.” On Tuesday a warm front will move through from the west. “In addition to warmer air, it brings a little more cloudiness, but no rain, which will be eaten up by high pressure,” said the weatherman. According to Wildermuth, in this warm air the temperature can rise to 20 degrees on Wednesday, even if the sun doesn’t always shine.

For the rest of the week, warm Mediterranean air under the influence of high pressure will determine the weather in the Tegernsee Valley. “There are only small differences in air pressure, so there is hardly any wind,” says the Schaftlacher and explains: “That means an increasing tendency for fog in the foothills, although the fog can also penetrate to the edge of the Alps and into the valleys. Outside of fog and high fog, it can get up to 20 degrees during the day. It will also be mild in the mountains, but it should stay dry everywhere.”
