French authorities ordered Omar bin Laden, the son of Al Qaeda founder Osama bin Laden, to leave the country due to his posts on social media.

The new French Minister of the Interior, Bruno Rotayo, said on the “X” platform, today, Tuesday, “Omar bin Laden was living in the Orne department in as the husband of a British citizen.”

He added that the decision was taken because he “published comments on social media in 2023 that glorified terrorism. As a result, the governor of Oren issued an order for bin Laden to leave French territory,” noting that “the courts confirmed the legitimacy of this decision, which was taken in the interest of national security.”

The French minister explained that he had issued a ban prohibiting Omar bin Laden “from returning to for any reason,” without going into details.

Omar bin Laden (43 years old) was born in Saudi Arabia, where he spent his early years. He also lived in Sudan, then in Afghanistan. He left his father when he was 19 and eventually settled in Normandy, northern France, in 2016, specializing in painting.

It is noteworthy that Al-Qaeda, under the leadership of Osama bin Laden, claimed responsibility for the attacks of September 11, 2001, in the United States, which killed about 3,000 people.

A US Navy special force killed Osama bin Laden on May 1, 2011, when they raided his home in the city of Aibetabad in northeastern Pakistan.
