Driving rain, violent winds… should be affected Wednesday and Thursday

Pretty cool name, and that’s the only positive thing about it. For the rest, Hurricane Kirk is preparing to hit in the days to come. It will take over from former tropical storm Joyce, which is currently off the coast of Ireland and will bring its share of rain on Monday.

Starting Tuesday evening, therefore, it will be Kirk’s turn to strike. Considered a major category 4 hurricane, it has France in its sights, as indicated by The Weather Channel. If its trajectory does not change, “a large part of France will be exposed on Wednesday and Thursday, with heavy rain and a strong gale,” we learn.

Winds up to 130 km/h

Still according to the models, La Chaîne Météo forecasts a “strong gale from the Atlantic to the northeast of the country”. Gusts could reach 120 to 130 km/h on the coasts and 100 km/h inland. They will be accompanied by “pouring rain and heavy downpours”.

Forecasters, however, point out that the tidal coefficients being very low, the risk of submersion is lower.
