Israel announces the end of the Iranian missile attack after recording “two minor injuries”

Israel announced, on Tuesday evening, the end of the Iranian missile attack that targeted several areas inside the country, after Iran fired about 200 missiles towards Israeli targets, which sparked a state of panic and alert throughout the country.

Alarm sirens sounded in multiple areas of Israel, prompting the authorities to direct residents to immediately go to shelters as a preventive measure. Later, the Israeli army confirmed in an official statement that the Iranian threat had subsided, explaining that “there is no longer a threat from Iran at the present time.” Accordingly, residents were allowed to gradually leave the shelters and return to their normal lives.

On the other hand, Israeli ambulance services announced that two people were slightly injured as a result of the missile attack, and they were transferred to hospitals to receive treatment. Despite the scope of the attack and the large number of missiles, it did not result in serious damage thanks to the defensive systems that intercepted most of the missiles.

In Tehran, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard announced that the attack was in response to the assassination of Hezbollah Secretary General, Hassan Nasrallah, and Hamas leader, Ismail Haniyeh. An official statement was quoted by Fars News Agency: “In response to the martyrdom of Ismail Haniyeh, Hassan Nasrallah, and Abbas Nilvorshan, we targeted the heart of the occupied territories (Israel).”

On the other hand, the White House stated that US President Joe Biden issued orders to the US Army to assist Israeli defenses in confronting Iranian missiles. Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris followed the attack from the White House Situation Room, with assurances of the United States’ readiness to defend Israel.

In Lebanon, gunfire was fired to celebrate the Iranian attack on Israel in the southern suburb of Beirut, according to Lebanese official media.

On the other hand, an Iranian official told Reuters that Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei was transferred to a safe place after the attack, indicating that Iran is ready for any response that may come from Israel or its allies.

The attack sparked widespread international concern, as United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres expressed his concern about the escalation of the conflict between Iran and Israel, calling on all parties to exercise restraint to avoid a comprehensive regional confrontation.
