Asian Qualifying System

The Asian continent will be represented by 8 teams in the 2026 World Cup, with the possibility of increasing to 9 depending on the results of the global play-off.

The third round includes 18 teams divided into 3 groups, each containing 6 teams competing in a two-stage league system, between September 2024 and June 2025.

The top two teams from each group qualify directly for the World Cup, while the remaining two direct seats for Asia will be determined through the fourth round in a continental play-off, while there will be a chance for an additional seat through a fifth round in the global play-off.
