Imane Khelif responds to Elon Musk

Guest on the show “Clique” on Canal+, Imane Khelif looks back on the wave of cyberbullying she was the victim of at the Paris-2024 Olympic Games. She responds in particular to the owner of the social network X, Elon Musk.

Imane Khelif was the victim of unhealthy and ferocious harassment before and during her participation in the Paris-2024 Olympic Games. But her response was in the ring, winning the gold medal after getting the better of all her opponents.

It was the owner of the social network X, Elon Musk, who had opened the campaign of cyberbullying against the young Algerian boxer. Indeed, he had relayed a transphobic message of support for the Italian Angela Carini, the first victim of the native of Tiaret at the Olympics. A wave of hatred and cyberbullying then followed, fueled by both athletes and public figures.

“You don’t know me, what have I done to you?”

Invited on the Canal+ show “Clique”, Imane Khelif returns to the media harassment of which she was the victim. She points the finger at Elon Musk, whom she denounces as being one of the first people to have attacked her and to have relayed this buzz against her.

“Elon Musk was among the first people who led a media cabal against me. I said to him: you don’t know me, what have I done to you? You have harmed me and my family. I also told him that at the time you were leading a campaign against me, my mother was going to the hospital every day,” she laments in an excerpt published on the networks of the show which will be broadcast on Monday.

Overcome with emotion, the 25-year-old Algerian boxer pauses for a few seconds, tears in her eyes. Then she continues: “I don’t understand why the world behaves like this these days. As a Muslim and Arab woman, I leave it to God. I have overcome this stage. I hope to be even stronger in the future and come back with even greater motivation.” Note that the full show will be broadcast tomorrow, Monday, on Canal+.

Let us recall that Imane Khelif filed a complaint with the Paris prosecutor’s office for cyberbullying just after the end of the Olympics. Elon Musk’s name was mentioned in the complaint.
