The Egyptian mission resumes its competitions today, Friday, in the Paralympic Games held in Paris and continuing until September 8, as weightlifters and kayaks compete today.

Kayak player Salwa Fahmy will participate in the women’s 200m individual medley qualifiers at 12:30pm Cairo time.

Salwa is the only kayaker to qualify for the Paralympics.

At the weightlifting level, the duo Fatima Mahrous and Mahmoud Sabry will compete, as Fatima Mahrous will play in the 57 kg weight class at 6 pm Cairo time, while Mahmoud Sabry will compete in the 72 kg weight class at 1 pm Cairo time.

The boccia team lost to the Thai team 11-0 in the quarter-finals of the mixed doubles, and Enas El-Gebali achieved seventh place in the 41 kg weightlifting competition, while Taha Adel achieved sixth place in the 54 kg weightlifting competition.

For his part, Chilean Andrew, the technical director of the Paralympic weightlifting team, confirmed that weightlifter Enas El-Gebali, who achieved seventh place in the 41 kg final, achieved seventh place in the Paralympic Games for several reasons.

Andrew said in exclusive statements to “Youm7”: The player was afraid because she was surprised that she was facing the strongest players in the world.
Andrew added that Enas was in awe of the general atmosphere and the crowd, noting that she qualified for the Paralympics after achieving eighth place, while today she came in seventh place, which is a good thing for her, especially since it is the first time a female player has participated in the Paralympic Games.
