Liam Payne died at the age of 31 as he fell from the balcony of a multi-storied building. The former One Direction member’s death has come as a shock for most. He was in CasaSur Palermo Hotel in Bueno Aires, Argentina when the mishap took place.

As his death comes under scanner, photos from his hotel room have now surfaced on the internet. It raises a lot of questions as the hotel room looks like a place of chaos with things strewn all over the place, his laptop smashed in the lobby and some powdery substances all over the place. Police suspect that he was indulging in drugs right before he reportedly fell from the balcony.

TMX was the first to share those pictures. The outlet also published first pictures of a lifeless Liam lying down. The pictures have now been taken down and there is now a debate about the ethics of journalism and where we should draw the line before reporting on the death of a celebrity.

While that is a subject of another debate, people can’t stop discussing what went wrong in that room before he fell to his death. The supposed scene from the singer’s room reveals a shattered TV, a powdery substance believed to be a drug, and a glimpse at numerous other items, including candles, aluminium foil, a Dove soap container, a burnt soda can top, a lighter and more scattered around the room.

The images have seemingly been sourced from local Argentinian media. The authenticity of those pictures is still to be seen.

According to Reuters, the police were notified of an “aggressive man who could be under the effects of drugs and alcohol.”

Meanwhile, there are conflicting reports of Liam Payne’s behaviour as he took to his Snapchat Story prior to his death. Although now deleted, one of his posts suggested that he was having a “lovely day” during his time off with his girlfriend, Kate Cassidy.

Other sources claim that Liam Payne was not okay in the years leading up to his death. The singer had opened up about struggling with mental health issues, addiction and sobriety struggles years before he died in 2024.
