After its victory against Scotland on Saturday (2-1), Croatia travels to Poland this Tuesday at 8:45 p.m. In case of victory, Duje Caleta-Car’s teammates will take a big step towards the Final 8 of the competition.

It is certainly not the biggest competition, but the League of Nations, however much maligned or even ignored by the players, delivers a trophy at the end of the tournament. To hope to lift it, you must first reach the Final 8 by finishing in one of the first two places in your group in the first division. This is what the Croats of Duje are trying to do Caleta-Car.

With six points in the bag, Croatia did rather well in its first three days, even if it lost to Portugal (2-1) in September. On Saturday, they dominated Scotland (2-1), placing themselves in second place, behind the Portuguese (9 units) and the Poles (3). The latter will also be the adversaries of Zlatko’s men Dalićthis Tuesday at 8:45 p.m.

A victory, and the last semi-finalists of the 2022 World Cup would almost qualify for the quarter-finals of the Nations League. They would in fact be six steps ahead of their pursuers, with two matches still to be played in the group stage. For this final poster for the October rally, Caleta-Car, which will be suspended on Sunday in (3 p.m.), should have a third start in a row with its country. Since the arrival of Pierre Sage on the OL bench and his new status within the club, the defender has found his place in the selection.
