Morocco has moved from reaction to proactivity in the Sahara issue

King Mohammed VI indicated that with regard to the Sahara issue, Morocco is moving from a management phase to a transformation phase, both internally and externally.

In his speech at the opening, this Friday, of the new legislative year in Parliament, the King affirmed that the Kingdom has moved from a reactive approach to one based on initiative, with determination and anticipation.

“I called for a move away from a purely reactive approach in favor of a logic of taking initiative, firmness and proactivity. Based on this postulate, and thanks to a clear vision, we have carried out determined and calm action for years so that, by all available means, and despite a difficult and complex international context, we can put highlight the correctness of our country’s position and assert our legitimate historical rights over our Sahara”, recalled the Sovereign, noting that“Today, God be praised, the Truth, which always ends up supplanting all other considerations, has been revealed brilliantly because just Causes inevitably triumph.”

The King also mentioned the position recently expressed by , which recognized Morocco’s sovereignty over the Sahara and supported the autonomy initiative as the solution to the conflict.

“This positive development, which makes good law and legitimacy prevail through the recognition of Morocco’s historic rights, is carried by a large country, endowed with the status of permanent member of the Security Council and recognized as an influential actor on the international scene . Moreover, France has in-depth knowledge of the nature and foundations of this regional conflict. he said.

The Sovereign also stressed the need to demonstrate vigilance and prudence to counter the maneuvers of adversaries, while calling for coordination between all institutions to strengthen their effectiveness in the management of the Sahara issue.
