RTL Infos – Accidents and fires: Rough night for firefighters in Luxembourg

Car on fire on the A3, collision on the A13 or ventilation fire, the firefighters were mobilized seven times during the night of Christmas Eve. Two people were transported to the emergency room.

Between 6:00 p.m. on Christmas Eve and 1:30 a.m. this Wednesday, December 25, rescuers were called seven times to different locations in Luxembourg.

Around 11:30 p.m., the alarm sounded in the fire and rescue centers of Sanem-Differdange and Esch-sur-Alzette. A collision had just occurred between two cars on the A13 towards Schengen. The Sanem-Differdange ambulance evacuated an injured person.

A first collision between two cars had already left one injured earlier in the evening around 7:20 p.m. on the main street in Hamiville. The person was evacuated to the emergency room by an ambulance from Clervaux.

A third collision occurred around midnight on rue de Noertrange in Wiltz, as did an exit from the road on the N31 between Budersberg and Kayl around 10 p.m. The car ended up in the ditch. But in both cases, there were no injuries, indicates the CGDIS in its morning bulletin.

Around 1:30 a.m. on December 25, firefighters from Hesperange and Roeserbann intervened on the A3 to extinguish a car which caught fire on the highway for an undetermined reason.

At the same time, firefighters from Findel, Luxembourg, Sandweiler and Junglinster were mobilized for “smoke coming from a battery” in a home on rue Aldringen in downtown Luxembourg. No injuries have been reported.

The evening started with a ventilation fire in Rue de Bragance in Hollerich. Without the Luxembourg firefighters reporting any casualties.
