The Christmas lottery draw takes place like every December 22 at the Teatro Real in Madrid. This year 2024, a total of 2.702 million euros will be distributed in a draw in which 100,000 balls with numbers ranging from 00000 to 99,999 inside a drum will be drawn one by one until all the balls in the drum are covered.
“For the Christmas draw, which will take place on December 22 at the Teatro Real in Madrid, 193 million Christmas lottery tickets were put on sale. This year the show consists of 193 series(eight more than last year) of 100,000 numbers each and amounts to 3,860 million euros70% of which will be distributed in the form of prizes. In other words, the Christmas draw will distribute this year a total of 2,702 million euros in prizes“.

The big drum is the one that contains 100,000 balls matching all numbers. It marks the end of the draw when there are no more balls inside. The balls weigh 3 grams and have a diameter of 18 millimeters. The two drums are gilded and made of an alloy of copper, tin and lead.
The first drum contains the 100,000 numbered ballsranging from 00,000 to 99,999. It is this drum that determines the numbers that will be assigned. The second drum contains the 1,807 prizes to be allocated, distributed as follows:
