Like many fans and observers, Marion Bartoli can't stand Nick Kyrgios anymore.
Asked to react to the Australian's numerous inflammatory statements about Jannik Sinner and in particular that concerning a possible duel between the two players at the Australian Open, the former French player said what she thought during the show “The Big Mouths of Sport” on RMC Sports.
“I'm not surprised because in any case Kyrgios only lives from that, only lives from declarations, each more provocative than the last. I still remind you that this is a player who was capable of saying absolute horrors to Stan Wawrinka, who is one of the most polite, most loved, most respected players on a tennis court, during a Masters 1000 in the middle of a match. We don't even know what's going through his mind, I'm not even going to tell you what he said, those who follow tennis know it. Now, with his provocative statements galore, after a while, we get fed up with them. We're fed up! Either way, Sinner isn't going to answer. And if he plays it on the court, even if it remains tennis, we still have on one side a player who is world number 1, has just won two Grand Slams and who has almost become unbeatable and on the other a Nick Kyrgios who has not played in official competition since June 13, 2023.”
