To cope with the growing activity of the Ambérieux-en-Dombes rescue center, which carries out between 220 and 250 interventions per year, it was necessary to enlarge the floor space. The goal was to make the spaces operational and more functional for intervention departures. This project, worked with local firefighters since 2022, started in February 2023 and ended on December 12. In total, nine Aindin companies worked on this site with the problem of coactivity with the firefighters who had to be able to continue to do their work.
Making life easier for firefighters
The work then took place in three phases. The first allowed the creation of men's and women's changing rooms with dedicated toilets as well as the development of a toxicity zone in order to carry out the obligatory cleaning of equipment after intervention. Then the second, just as important, with the creation of the SAS after-sales service in order to make the sanitary area watertight as well as the creation of two rooms, which will allow on-call barracks and a shared office. Finally, the last stage remodeled the entrance, the switchboard, with the establishment of a real administrative part with an office for the center head and his deputy who did not have one before, as well as a meeting room. training and a multi-purpose office. Sectional doors that were previously manual are now semi-automatic, which allows faster interventions.
Sdis-Department funding
The overall budget devoted to the operation is €394,000, including €307,000 for work. This project was financed by the Sdis de l'Ain but also by the Department of Ain. It was able to see the light of day in particular thanks to numerous actors in the Ain emergency services, communities and the Department: Aurélie Bagne, head of the heritage service, Christine Fornes, mayor of Ambérieux-en-Dombes, the controller general Hugues Deregnaucourt, director of Sdis and head of the Ain fire brigade as well as Jean Deguerry, president of the Ain departmental council.
