The Fire and rescue center (CIS) of Gasny, in Eure, celebrated, Saturday December 14, 2024, Sainte-Barbe in the presence of Charles Giusti, prefect of Eure, Pascal Lehongre, president of the board of directors of the fire services and (SDIS 27), Emmanuel Ducouret, director of SDIS 27, Catherine Delalande, departmental advisor and deputy mayor of Vernon, and Pascal Jolly, mayor of Gasny.

“Don’t give up”

The Gasny CIS, led by Captain Jérôme Richard, is made up of eleven volunteer firefighters who carried out 60 interventions in 2024, for an overall request of 300. The Vernon CIS carrying out the complement, in perfect synergy since, for example, Corporal Stéphanie Duval, medalist of honor for the firefighters, carried out 131 interventions this year at the Vernon CIS for 696 hours of custody.

After receiving congratulations from Colonel Ducouret for his participation in a mission to distribute drinking water to the population of Mayotte in February 2024, Jérôme Richard, a volunteer firefighter for sixteen years, announced his upcoming departure.

“I have chosen to leave my position as head of the Gasny center, and I will remain available during the coming months to ensure a smooth transition and the training of my successor. »

Jérôme Richard concluded his speech with this plea to his troops: “Do not give up, continue to set an example for the youth of and to honor public service. » His successor will be named soon.
