Kind regards was created in 2022 by traders and actors in the cultural life of Veules-les-Roses near Dieppe (Seine-Maritime) in order to constitute a relay between the town hall and the inhabitants. This association wants to be a stakeholder in initiatives in the village. It has a quarantine of members.
In the office of this association, all positions have the particularity of being duplicated. Amélie Garnier is co-president with Laure Schaufelberger. Sandra Beaufils is co-secretary with Coralie Dantan et Jacqueline Livry is the co-treasurer with Françoise Spiri. They all work in various professions: restaurateurs, bookseller, architect, librarian or jam maker, but they have in common the desire to energize the village whatever the season.
A village that experiences winter
So every year Amicalement Veules participates in the Rose Festival by organizing a rose hunt that can be found on shop windows in the village. For the edition ofAt the Tour of Words 2024the association played with words to cooperate in the poetic project: each window had a written word.
The traders have also chosen to put up a notice in the shops of Veules: it indicates that they are open this winter. “Through this initiative, we wanted to show that the village also experiences winter and around ten shops or cultural places have already put up a poster to indicate that they are open,” confides Amélie Garnier.
A Christmas village
Finally, the non-luminous decorations of winter 2023 less energy-intensive are used again for these festivals, but the village is lit up again, because it was a request from the residents. “A Christmas village which is an initiative of the community of communes of the Côte d'Albâtre will be held in Veules from December 30 to January 4, three Veules merchants will be partners in this event: Comme à la maison, Normandise and the Miss Rose bakery. There will be sweet snacks on sale for young and old,” concludes Amélie Garnier.
