Placed in receivership since last July, Healthy Group, which oversaw the JOUR branches, the brand's franchise contracts as well as the Naked brand, was taken over by the Popotes Group as part of a continuation plan.
Several players, including catering heavyweights, were in the running. It was ultimately the Popotes Group which convinced the court thanks to its takeover project including the assumption of the assets and liabilities of Healthy Group. This acquisition would include 11 JOUR branches as well as around fifteen franchisees, expected to begin a new adventure. For the moment, the buyers have not revealed their precise intentions regarding the future of JOUR. Two scenarios seem possible: the continuation of the story of JOUR under a new configuration or a gradual transformation of the establishments under the Popote Food Bar & Coffee brand (formerly Popoted Cantine Respectieuse). Created in 2016 by Guillaume Meaud and Julien LefeuvrePopotes and its ten sites, is currently evolving towards an innovative coffee shop model, faithful to its three founding pillars which are the collaborative economy, social entrepreneurship and collective responsibility. This takeover marks a new stage for JOUR, pioneer of the salad bar in France, founded in 2003 by Noémi Carrelet, Thomas Fourneret and Thomas Battistini. The latter sold the channel at the beginning of 2021 to a family office, which entrusted the presidency to Maël Bart. Today, a new chapter is being written for this iconic brand in the sector.
