Thursday in the NHL | The Lightning win 3-1 against the Blues

(Tampa) Nikita Kucherov was complicit in two goals and the Tampa Bay Lightning defeated the St. Louis Blues 3-1 on Thursday night.

Anthony Cirelli, Gage Goncalves and Nick Perbix scored the goals for the Lightning, who won their fourth straight game and six of their last seven.

Andrei Vasilevskiy finished the game with 31 saves.

Pavel Buchnevich scored the only goal for the Blues. Jordan Binnington allowed three goals on just 11 shots before being replaced by Joel Hofer. The latter stopped the seven shots he faced.

Cirelli registered his 13e goal of the campaign after 5:14 of play in the first period and Perbix made it 2-0 after 3:42 of the second period.

Buchnevich cut the lead in half with 7:45 left in the second period, but Goncalves responded with the first goal of his NHL career just over a minute later.

Devils 2 – Blue Jackets 4

In Columbus, Sean Monahan had three points, including two goals, to help the Blue Jackets beat the New Jersey Devils 4-2.

Ivan Provorov and Zach Werenski also found the back of the net for the Blue Jackets, who ended an ugly five-game losing streak.

Kirill Marchenko amassed two assists, reaching the 100-point plateau in the Bettman circuit. He also extended his streak of games with at least one point to four.

Elvis Merzlikins stopped 40 shots, a career high this season.

Luke Hughes and Timo Meier responded for the Devils, who saw their winning streak cut to three. Jake Allen blocked 16 shots.

Kings 7 – Flyers 3

Anze Kopitar (11)

In Philadelphia, Anze Kopitar and Kevin Fiala each scored two goals to lead the Los Angeles Kings to a 7-3 victory over the Flyers.

Kopitar scored the goal that tied the game 3-3 in the last minute of play in the second period and then redirected a pass from Alex Turcotte in the third period.

The Kings captain has collected at least one point in 19 of his last 24 games, but this was his first two-goal game since his hat trick in the very first game of the season.

Warren Foegele deflected a Jordan Spence pass past Flyers goalie Aleksei Kolosov for the deciding goal 1:54 into the third period.

Tanner Jeannot and Quinton Byfield scored the Kings’ other two goals. Darcy Kuemper made 23 saves.

Tyson Foerster, twice, and Noah Cates responded for the Flyers, who lost a third consecutive match. Kolosov stopped 20 shots.
