A member of the Saône-et-Loire Bresse Morvan regional hospital group, the Autun hospital is part of a group of 8 public health establishments and collaborates with numerous partners to offer the best possible care to its patients.
More doctors on the Autun site
In recent months, 12 interns have added to the staff at Autun hospital. A recruitment that “meets a need of the population”indicates Pascal Mokzan, director of the health establishment. “Recruitment also means that there is more activity and more beds”adds Vincent Chauvet, mayor of Autun and president of the hospital supervisory board.
A strengthened workforce which also makes it possible to expand the care offer with new projects, in particular through the creation of the pediatric short-term hospitalization unit, with the expansion of outpatient consultations and the development of the outpatient offer thanks to the implementation of new activities (diabetology, cardiology). “We allow a mixed practice of medicine which corresponds to the young generation of doctors who want to join us”specifies Vincent Chauvet.
Also, to respond to this increase in activity, the hospital’s materials and equipment have also been modernized. A SMORT truck has been purchased, emergency restructuring work will begin in early 2025 and the Éduenne boarding school on the Latouche site has also been renovated.
Projects to increase the healthcare offering at Autun hospital
Geriatrics, diabetology, cardiology and the day hospital are already installed in the establishment. The maternity ward is also still open with the peri-maternity center which offers all local care for monitoring patients and their future child (apart from childbirth). The increase in the provision of care is taking place in pediatrics, for specialty consultations and hospitalization for people who are overweight or obese. A new SMUR dedicated to obstetric emergencies is also in service.
Other areas of improvement and development of the Autun hospital center are also on the table. First to develop outpatient medical services, then to develop local monitoring for women, mothers and children. The hospital also wishes to optimize care pathways, strengthen human resources activity at the hospital for caregivers and doctors, but also strengthen links with its partners (in particular with the Clinique du Parc and town doctors).
One of the areas of work of health professionals will also be to ensure the promotion of well-treatment and develop the prevention of risks of mistreatment. That is to say, allowing doctors to be trained in order to be able to identify and report situations of mistreatment.
