Sport is a total social fact. It contributes to the health, inclusion and dynamism of our society. The popular success of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games has amply proven this. But how can we transform this enthusiasm into a lasting legacy? In a tight budgetary context, it is urgent to maximize the social impact of sport, to invest intelligently and to amplify its positive externalities for the future.
From 4 p.m., follow live this Sport and Citizenship conference dedicated to the post-Paris 2024 Olympic Games, with the participation of Olympic medalists Manon-Apithy Brunet and Élodie Clouvel, but also other players in sport. The CSS2024 aims to bring together all stakeholders in sport and civil society to debate, reflect and formulate concrete solutions around three major issues:
Debate 1: Partners of the Games, what next?
The partners of the Olympic Games have been essential to their success. But how can we extend this commitment after the Games? This debate will highlight solutions to sustain investment in sport, support territories and guarantee sustainable accessibility for all. Public and private actors will exchange ideas to transform the legacy of the Games into a financing engine serving sport and society.
Debate 2: A healthier and more fulfilled life through sport
Our rhythms of life are changing: work, rest, family, leisure… everything is intertwined. How can we sustainably integrate physical activity into everyone’s daily life? This debate will propose concrete ideas for placing sport at the heart of our lives and promoting individual and collective well-being.
Debate 3: Sport generating social cohesion
Sport is a powerful vector of inclusion and solidarity. It strengthens the links between individuals and communities. But how can we maintain and amplify this impact to fight against social divides? Solutions will be explored to make sport a lasting pillar of social cohesion.
An event to act together: This first edition of the Citizen Sports Conferences is much more than a space for debate. At the end of these discussions, and thanks to your participation, concrete proposals will be formulated to influence sporting and societal policies, in France and in Europe.
