Clément Servat, departmental councilor of Pyrénées-Atlantiques, becomes the new president of the European Grouping of Cross-border Cooperation (EGTC) Pirineos-Pyrénées, succeeding Octavio Lopez Rodriguez.

Clément Servat, departmental councilor for Pyrénées-Atlantiques, succeeds Octavio Lopez Rodriguez, first vice-president of the government of Aragon, as president of the European Grouping of Cross-border Cooperation (EGTC) Pirineos-Pyrénées for the Pyrénées-Atlantiques. Created in 2020, the Pirineos-Pyrénées EGTC brings together the territories of Pyrénées-Atlantiques and Hautes-Pyrénées, on the French side, and the Government of Aragon and the Diputacion de Huesca on the Spanish side. He has led several European projects in these territories such as PHUSICOS, HERMES and Pyrénées For Clima.

At the same time, the cross-border tourism program Roadtrip Pyrénées, developed over the past two years in partnership with Hautes-Pyrénées Tourisme, has strengthened regional attractiveness. The EGTC is also involved in agrotourism and the promotion of local products, in collaboration with the Pyrénées-Atlantiques Chambers of Agriculture and the Departmental Tourism Agency.

In 2025, the EGTC will pilot the European POCTEFA 2021-2027 program for the Nouvelle-Aquitaine, and Aragon regions. An envelope of nine million euros will be dedicated to projects linked to mobility, tourism and the local economy. A call for projects will be launched at the start of the year, with additional funding of 3.6 million euros, including two million reserved for the management of cross-border infrastructure.
