Fighting fires and power cuts at the heart of the Camors municipal council

In Camors, Monday December 16, Mayor Claude Jarno convened the last municipal council of the year during which elected officials took stock of the activity of the tourist train on the Pontivy-Lambel line which transported 5,934 passengers in 2024 for a turnover of €78,040. Santa Claus trains between Lambel-Camors and Pontivy are full again this year. No fare increase is planned and the Pontivy-Auray line, opened this summer, will be made permanent.

Repair of the electricity network

Jacky Digard, deputy mayor in charge of town planning, then detailed the activity of Morbihan Énergies in Camors. An investment by Enedis of €600,000 in 2024 enabled the repair of the network which had become obsolete.

Fifty poles, lines and transformers were changed or modernized in order to limit the repeated power cuts which had led to strong reactions from residents. Line erasure is also planned in the center of Camors.

34 fire hydrants

Concerning the fight against fires, a long-awaited report from Saur was communicated to elected officials. “We must be aware of the risk of fire in the town and the urgency of improving fire coverage,” said Jean-Jacques Corbel, deputy mayor in charge of finances.

34 additional fire hydrants, eleven flexible reservoirs and six natural water points will have to be installed in order of priority, for an overall budget estimated at €267,000 smoothed over several years.

A sign on the N24

Concerning the construction sites in Camors, work on the health center began at the end of November on the Petit- municipal housing estate and the social landlord Espacil was selected for the construction of six social housing units on this same housing estate.

At the end of the meeting, the mayor, Claude Jarno, announced that the municipality had, following numerous requests, obtained a favorable opinion for the installation of a sign indicating Camors on the N24 road at the Baud station exit.
