Dany Fournier takes over as president of the Deux-Sèvres departmental committee

Olympic years are election years for French rugby authorities. After the federation and the league, the month of December gives way to the elections of the departmental committees. The CDs are responsible for the training of rugby school educators, the organization of rugby school tournaments, the departmental selections of young players under 13 and 14 years old and young players under 15 years old. It was therefore Thursday, December 12 that the Deux-Sèvres clubs met in Chauray for these elections.

The budget of CD 79 is around €35,000, which allows the structure to work on selections for under-13s and under-14s for boys and under-15s for girls. After several years of twinning with for these selections, Deux-Sèvres is gaining independence on the M13G and M15F this season. The M14Gs will work for the last year this season with the Vienne, the numbers being sufficient now.

A list of twelve elected

The M13Gs are supervised by club employees such as Axel Jaulin (Saint-Maixent), Jules Coulin and Armand Brossard (COB79), while the M14s are supervised by Alain Jamain (Thouars) and the M15Fs by Léonie Chauvineau (Chauray). The departmental committee also works with primary schools via the USEP and trains school teachers in the basics of rugby.

After the ordinary AGM and the financial AGM came the elective AGM. The list led by Dany Fournier was the only one and the 12 members were elected unanimously, the assembly having taken the opportunity to co-opt two new members, Anne-Gaëlle Michelet and Hervé Leroy.

Are thus elected: Dany Fournier (president), Bernard Rebeyrol (vice-president and secretary), Pierre Bellamy (vice-president in charge of sports), Jean-Pierre Dampuré, (treasurer), Patrick Vinsot (in charge of women and relations with the military teams), Dr Simon Charasson and Philippe Proust (in charge of health and adapted sports), Karine Magneron-Pajaud (administrative of the women’s teams), Alexandra Charrier (administrative of the men’s teams), Pascal Valès (in charge of cohesion, prevention and the Pure Sport label), Luigi Belli (in charge of coordinating match officials), and Yassir Yebba.

President Fournier recalls that the 2024-2028 Olympiad will be organized according to the three priorities of the FFR: development of health sport and adapted sport, development of school rugby and development of women’s teams.
