The city of Dijon and the Department of Côte-d’Or are strengthening their cooperation through a multi-year agreement aimed at developing territorial and human solidarity. This ambitious agreement is part of the policy “ Major Projects Côte-d’Or » supported by the Department, which aims to support structuring projects of supra-municipal scale to improve the population’s access to services and equipment, while strengthening the attractiveness of the territory.
This agreement is structured around five major axes:
1. Contribute to quality of life and social cohesion
The city of Dijon and the Department are joining forces to strengthen educational success policies, city policy, as well as actions aimed at access or return to employment for RSA beneficiaries. In addition, this collaboration includes initiatives in favor of access to culture and the support of sporting events of national and international scope.
2. Contribute to the attractiveness and development of the territory
Dijon is continuing ambitious investments in community, cultural and sporting projects. The Côte-d’Or Department is committed to funding several key projects, including:

The renovation of the Maison des Associations and the Grand Théâtre,

Construction of sports equipmentlike the gymnasium in the Arsenal eco-district,

Renovation of synthetic pitches in Fontaine d’Ouche, Epirey, Éveil and the Sellenet gymnasium.
In return, the city of Dijon will provide sports equipment for middle school students as well as future spaces in the multipurpose room of the Maison des Associations. The estimated amount of support amounts to 3 million euros.
3. Strengthen the attractiveness of the territory with the SPL Dijon Bourgogne Events
The participation of the Côte-d’Or Department in the capital of SPL Dijon Bourgogne Events in the amount of 10% is recorded. This agreement formalizes the working arrangements between the various shareholders to revitalize the Exhibition and Congress Center and contribute to the economic and event attractiveness of the region.
4. Develop cooperation in favor of biodiversity and the energy transition
The city of Dijon and the Department reaffirm their commitment to the energy transition and the preservation of biodiversity. This axis is part of the Metropolitan Climate and Biodiversity Plan supported by the city of Dijon.
5. Develop cooperation around the issue of food
The issue of food is a common priority for both communities. This agreement provides for better coordination of actions in favor of sustainable and accessible food.
To ensure the implementation and monitoring of the actions planned in this agreement, a steering committee will meet once a year. It will be made up of the Mayor of Dijon or her representative, the President of the Departmental Council or his representative, as well as the general management of the two communities. This body will have the mission of taking stock of the collaborations and projects implemented.
Furthermore, for projects falling under the “ Contribute to the attractiveness and development of the territory », the city of Dijon will request at the maximum rate all available subsidies, whether from the Department or other potential co-financiers.
This strengthened partnership between Dijon and the Côte-d’Or Department demonstrates their common desire to act for the development of territorial and human solidarity, while contributing to the attractiveness and influence of the territory. Thanks to this agreement, the two communities are paving the way for sustainable and effective cooperation for the benefit of residents and the entire territory.
