Pierre Audet: Summa Faculty Community Prize 2024 – Faculty of Science and Engineering

Responsible for practical work and research in the Department of Chemistry, Pierre Audet is recognized for his team spirit and his scientific curiosity. On November 24, the 2024 Summa Faculty Community Prize was awarded to him to highlight his dedication, which is essential to the Faculty’s research and student community.

In position since 1996, Pierre Audet specializes in nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and mass spectrometry. His technical knowledge of instrumentation, his programming skills and his handyman side are major assets which allow him to ensure the maintenance of devices and the development of innovative tools, both within the Department and outside the walls. from University. In particular, in 2014, he developed control software for a temperature regulator which is frequently used with NMR spectrometers. Thanks to his versatility, he is able to brilliantly meet complex challenges and ensure the continuous improvement of laboratories.

Holder of a bachelor’s and master’s degree in chemistry from the Faculty, he knows how to create a stimulating learning environment where students can apply theory using practical laboratory experiments. He also makes it a point to place training at the forefront of his own career, since he regularly participates in international conferences to cultivate his scientific knowledge and be on the lookout for the latest technological advances.
