artificial meat is disgusting… and maybe soon on our plates

Warning: if you are a little wet or have just eaten oysters, put this article aside, come back to it after you have digested. Even then, you might gag when reading about the production steps for the dish of the future: artificial meat. We told you in a previous article about plant-based steaks which best imitate pieces of meat. At the start of the 2000s, producing meat in the laboratory was science fiction. But in recent years, several companies have announced that they have succeeded in producing it, so much so that certain restaurant chains are already marketing this “cultured meat”, particularly in the United States (Hey, well, here we go again). Last step to take for manufacturers: reduce production costs. And convince consumers to buy their beef from sorcerers’ apprentices.
