War in Ukraine: “These forces are legitimate military targets for the Ukrainians”, in the Kursk region, Kyiv announces the death of at least 50 North Korean soldiers

While the Ukrainian authorities announced that they had eliminated at least 30 North Korean soldiers in the Kurks region, in Russia, between December 14 and 15, a new report shows at least 50 dead and 47 injured.

The fighting continues in Kursk region, Russiasince the Ukrainian incursion on August 6, with, now, the presence of North Korean soldiers after Moscow and Pyongyang signed a mutual defense agreement.

Since then, North Korean soldiers have already died according to the Ukrainian authorities who announced on Monday, December 16, that they had killed at least 30 of these soldiers during clashes, during the weekend, around the villages de Plekhovo, Vorojba et Martynovka.

This Tuesday, December 17, Ukrainian special operations forces indicated on Telegram, taken up by KyivPost, that 50 North Korean soldiers were killed and 47 others injured in three days. Armored equipment and vehicles were also reportedly destroyed.

For his part, Kyrylo Budanov, head of the Ukrainian Defense Intelligence Directorate, stressed that 200 North Koreans died after the latter launched large-scale assaults last week.

“These forces are legitimate military targets for Ukrainiansgiven that they are engaged in active combat”, added, during a press briefing, the Pentagon spokesperson.
