The PS5 exclusive Stellar Blade today welcomes a new update with a whole bunch of free content as a special bonus at this time of year.
Despite its post-apocalyptic atmosphere full of melancholy, the festive spirit of Christmas comes to Stellar Blade today via a new update. The opportunity in particular for the city of Xion, Eve or Adam to celebrate the end of the year in beauty and color, but also to add new thematic activities to brighten everything up. We unpack what Shift Up has put together for the event.
Stellar Blade celebrates Christmas with new free content
While Stellar Blade was the subject of a (paid) collaboration with NieR Automata, with an additional update adding a photo mode, Shift Up this time adds the magic of Christmas to its game. The city of Xion takes the opportunity to get a makeover with a tree, garlands and snowmen on the program. Likewise, Eve, Adam and his drone unearthed appropriate costumes in the rubble, as you can see below.
That’s not all that the specially dedicated Christmas update brings to Stellar Blade. The camp jukebox is also filled with two new songs: “ Dawn (Winter) » et « Take Me Away », to brighten up the atmosphere after killing the deformed monster on the chain. Finally, Xion welcomes a new target shooting mini-game, with different gifts to be won for ace shooters.
If, however, you’re not in the festive mood, the new Stellar Blade update also adds an option to enable or disable content relating to seasonal events or the NieR Automata DLC. These can now be activated or deactivated, depending on your mood at the moment. This will likely be the latest news on Shift Up’s PS5 exclusivity for this year. The Korean studio should, however, return during 2025 to provide further details regarding a PC version of Stellar Blade which has already been confirmed, or even news of its future projects, including potentially a sequel.
