Driver dies after beating, three people arrested

Three people were arrested and taken into custody on Sunday after a motorist died after being beaten by two attackers who fled the scene on Saturday evening in Valencia, according to the Figaro This Sunday, a police source, confirmed by the prosecution.

According to our information, the events took place on Saturday around 10 p.m. on Avenue de la Libération in Valence. A Peugeot 307, after chasing another vehicle, “forced to stop” the car in question by hitting it “violently, repeatedly.” The car then crashed into a low wall, the prosecutor’s office said on Sunday evening. The driver of the Peugeot and a passenger got out and violently pulled out the driver, who was clearly injured, hitting him in the head.

Refusal to comply

Police officers then intervened, but the attackers fled, refusing to comply, according to the police source. Seriously injured in the head, the attacked man, aged 31, died shortly afterwards, around 10:25 p.m., succumbing to his injuries, reported the Figaro a source close to the case. According to our information, the victim, a French national, was registered in the criminal history processing file (TAJ), which lists in particular the persons accused and the victims in criminal cases. It should be noted that the scene of the attack was covered by video surveillance cameras.

The Peugeot vehicle of the attackers, which the police had lost track of, was found burned in the town of Claveyson, about thirty kilometers from Valence. A criminal investigation has been opened on the charge of voluntary homicide with premeditation, entrusted to the DCOS of the DIPJ 26.

Thanks to the exploitation of the initial elements collected and urban video surveillance recordings, three people were identified and placed in police custody. “Investigations are continuing, particularly to determine the motive for this atrocious fatal attack, the course of which suggests a targeted killing.”the prosecution said.
