Actor Art Evans, famous for his role in the film Die Hard 2 died this Saturday, December 21, as his press secretary confirmed to the American media Variety. The actor was 82 years old.
“We were heartbroken to learn of Art's passing. We ask that you respect our privacy at this time. A tribute will be organized for friends and family at a later date. We thank you,” said his wife , Babe Evans, in a press release.
Career in theater, film and television
After starting out in the theater, Art Evans then turned to cinema, playing the first victim in the film. Christine by John Carpenter, released in 1983, one of the actor's first roles on screen.
Art Evans also shared the bill with Adolph Caesar and Denzel Washington in A Soldier’s Story but it is his role in Die Hard 2 who made him famous. The actor plays the character of Leslie Barnes, an air traffic control tower employee who helps John McClane (Bruce Willis) stop mercenaries.
The actor has also distinguished himself on television and made several appearances in series Monk, The X-Files, MASH or even Family life. Recently, Art Evans lent his voice to a character in the cartoon The Proud Family: Stronger and Prouder.
