The Prime Minister's chief of staff, Mr. Mamadou Dembélé, proceeded, this Friday, December 20, 2024, to the official installation of Mr. Pogdnaba Christian Zongo in his new role as director of communications and public relations of the Prime Minister's Office.
He was appointed to the Council of Ministers on December 18, 2024, succeeding Jean Victor Ouédraogo, who spent more than two years in this position. In his speech upon taking office, the new director in charge of communications expressed his full recognition and gratitude to the highest authorities for the trust placed in him and affirmed his determination and commitment to the accomplishment of his mission. “I am not ignorant of the subject for which I am called. It is complex and moving, delicate and precious like every citizen of this nation that we have the duty to serve on a daily basis,” affirmed Pogdnaba Christian Zongo. Referring to the mission entrusted to him as head of the DCRP Prime Minister, he affirmed that it will consist of carrying out fair, sufficient and sober communication for the visibility and readability of the institution's activities. To achieve this objective, he hoped for excellent collaboration with the directors in charge of communication from other ministries as well as with all information and communication stakeholders. Pogdnaba Christian ZONGO also praised the work accomplished by his predecessor, Jean Victor Ouédraogo, while wishing him success for the rest of his career. In his farewell speech, the outgoing director, Jean Victor Ouédraogo, thanked the entire DCRP team with whom he collaborated, as well as all the Prime Ministers who trusted him for this function.
Jean Victor Ouédraogo, in a modest statement, underlined his unfailing commitment to his duties during his two years. “As for the results, I am not best qualified to take stock. However, I can affirm that during my two years in office, we were present in all the battles, all the challenges, all the meetings, all the events and activities where the presence of authority was required, day and night. at night, inside and outside,” underlined Jean Victor Ouédraogo.
