This Thursday, December 19, Mathias Pogba was sentenced by the Paris criminal court to three years in prison, one year of which will be suspended. He was named as guilty of an extortion attempt with the complicity of several individuals. His sentence will be home detention under electronic monitoring.

The day after the judgment which condemned his brother and his childhood friends in the resounding affair of his kidnapping,
Paul Pogba said he wanted turn the page » in a statement sent to AFP on Friday evening. “ There are no winners in this case which involves members of my family and people I have known since childhood.”declared the French international through his lawyer. The former Juventus Turin player did not wish to attend the trial. He also added:
I can finally turn the page on this extremely painful period. This conclusion is an opportunity for everyone to focus on the future. Now that the judgment has been made, I can fully concentrate on my return to professional football.
The 31-year-old French international tested positive for testosterone, which has led to him being suspended since September 2023. But his sanction was reduced on appeal and he will be able to return to competition next March.
