the essential
Several media libraries are embarking on a common literary adventure.

The Reading for All association and the media libraries of Castelmayran, Castelsarrasin, Lavilledieu-du-Temple, Moissac and Saint-Nicolas-de-la-Grave offer residents of the Terres des Confluences area a shared literary adventure with the creation of the first edition of the Confluences prize for the first novel.

The selection of librarians

Five novels by French authors were selected by librarians from the 2024 editorial production: “Terrespromides”, by Bénédicte Dupré-Latour (Les Éditions du panseur); “Les Echappés”, by Renaud Rodier (published by Anne Carrière); “L’Escale”, by Marion Lejeune (editions Le Bruit du monde); “Cut”, by Laure Desmazières (Quidam publisher); “People as it should”, by Florence Chataignier (editions Le recherche midi).

To participate, all you need to do is be registered in one of the participating media libraries in the Terres des Confluences area. Readers can obtain the works themselves or borrow them from their media library.

Readers are then invited to vote until April 26, 2025. Either by obtaining a participation form in their library where a ballot box is available, or online, via the digital form.

The winner will be invited for a meeting in spring 2025, open to all.

Encourage diversifying reading

This event brings together media libraries and readers around editorial news, putting literature in the spotlight.

It encourages exchanges, helps develop critical skills and encourages diversifying reading by reaching out to new authors.

It is possible to find all the information on the website of the town of Castelsarrasin: www.ville-castelsarrasin.fr and from the librarians.
