This Saturday at home, Amiens Métropole Volley-Ball has the opportunity to make it three against Halluin. In the event of a victory, the Amiens could move closer to third place, which would allow them to go on vacation with a lighter mind.
On the occasion of the 10th day of the championship which marks the start of the return phases, the AMVB welcomes Halluin to the Coliseum. An already decisive meeting against a direct competitor in the play-offs that the Samarians know well. It was in fact during the first day that the Haluinois had difficulty breaking away from the Amiens in three sets. A defeat due to a particular context, since the new Picardy squad found itself pitted against a Halluin team accustomed to playing together. This period is now over and, according to Ali Nouaour, with this first match of the return phase, “It’s a new championship that’s starting. In the meantime, water has flowed under the bridge. They had a good start to the championship, we had a bad one. Then things rebalanced, we won the matches we needed to get back to their level. We have nine points, they have eleven. I told the guys that today we are the hunters and that we go hunting every Saturday« .
At the same time, Beauvais will face Calais and, in the event of a Beauvais victory, the Samarians would move to 4th place: “I honestly hope for a victory for Beauvais and a victory for Amiens which would allow us to pass Calais and Halluin in the last match of the year 2024. So it would be a very good operation but for that we have to do a good match » declared the Amiens coach. The latter analyzed the adversary who faces them: “It’s a team that plays the ball well. They have a very good passer, good receivers so we will have to be very good at serving. We will also have to not give up mentally because I think this match will be won mentally.. Playing this match without pressure, at home, in front of our audience. As I told the players, there is still a home stretch so we will decompress, I hope, on Saturday around 9 p.m..”
The Picards will face Haluinois with players of great experience like Baptiste Geiler. Faced with a roomy team, Ali Nouaour recalled that to win, his squad will have to remain concentrated while muzzling the opposing point guard as well as the attacking receiver Baptiste Geiler: « We have to win this match, we know how« . In a meeting of such intensity, Ali Nouaour planned to line up “the team that beat Villejuif 15 days ago”. While Rêche Mizingou and Mehdi Hachemi will hopefully be established at the position of passer and point guard, the Picard tactician is still wondering who to line up at the position of attacking receiver and center: “Damien Barry worked well so it will be played between Damien, Matchello Gabali and Farouk Tizit at receiver. At the central station everyone is working well at the moment […] Sometimes, I do my composition during the warm-up when I see if the player is good”.
