In a few weeks, three young people from the Châteaux de la Loire region will finish work on their house, which they bought for a pittance. Thanks to this purchase, they will be able to enjoy the passage of customers in their luxury gîte for years to come.
“Our father is very handy,” justifies one of the three young people behind the project to the Figaro. Last year, they bought a house abandoned for 15 years for 37,000 euros in Indre-et-Loire. After work carried out themselves, they hope to open their luxury lodge next spring.
“The price of a car”
When they realized that the coveted house was being resold by an association helping disabled people for “the price of a car”the three young people aged 26 and 30 did not hesitate for long.
“After some research, we learned that it had been uninhabited for 15 years and that the previous owner, who had died, had left it to an association,” they tell our colleagues. “Faced with the scale of the work”, another buyer had just abandoned the project. They jumped at the chance.
“The Orchard of Angels”
It’s the start of an adventure in this 70 square meter house, and its 730 square meter garden, of which they broadcast the progress of the renovations on their Instagram account “The Orchard of Angels”. They split the purchase into three, and also invested 25,000 euros for the work.
To convince their banker, they made a promise: in five years, with 100 annual nights, managed by three people, they will have made the investment profitable.
And the lodge is set to evolve. With their next income, they hope to install a spa, which will allow them to increase the nightly prices.
