Things aren’t going great in Montreal these days, but luckily the team faces the Buffalo Sabers this evening.
The Buffalo club is currently on a 10-game losing streak and things are so bad that owner Terry Pegula had to get involved.
Let’s say that the message did not go through very well since Montreal scored in the 19th second of play.
Moments later, Patrik Laine, on the power play, scored with a perfect shot in the upper area.
He thought he had scored moments before, but his shot hit the post.
All four of his goals have come on the power play this season.
The two Finns from CH who will participate in the four nations tournament have found the back of the net, therefore.
It’s been a long time since the club started a match like this…
After this goal, Montreal led 9-0 in shots on goal and dominated. The number of shots on goal is not the only factor proving this explosion at the start of the period. I don’t know what Martin St-Louis said to his troop, but clearly it had a positive effect.
Perhaps CH will finally cross the 31 shots on goal mark for the first time this season…
Prolongation
In the most recent episode of Sick Podcast – The Eye Test, Pierre McGuire said that Martin St-Louis’ squad needed to get off to a good start.
Let’s just say his wishes were fulfilled.
