September in GOLD: €10,000 collected in to support the fight against childhood cancer

The “September en GOLD” operation made it possible to collect €10,000 in for research into childhood cancers. Around forty partners and merchants mobilized for the Imagine for Margot association, despite a lower number than last year.

The “September en GOLD” operation made it possible to raise €10,000 to support research against pediatric cancers in Greater Reims, thanks to the commitment of numerous partners, merchants and events. In the interview available via the player at the top of the page, listen to the results of the operation by Sophie Labelle, who supervises “September en OR” in Reims.

A month of mobilization for pediatric cancers

During the month of September, several events were organized in Reims to raise awareness and funds for the benefit of the “Imagine for Margot” association, dedicated to research against childhood cancer. Sophie Labelle, responsible for the operation, is delighted with the €10,000 collected this year. Although this amount is lower than last year (€13,000), the mobilization was strong, with the participation of around forty partners and around fifteen traders.

Solidarity and varied events

Among the notable events, an improvisation show organized at Le Clos, in the Boulingrin district of Reims. The theater troupe “Le Mitch” donated all of the funds to the association, thus contributing to the prize pool. At the same time, merchants contributed to the operation by donating part of their profits or by selling dedicated products, strengthening solidarity within the city.

The importance of awareness beyond donations

If the amount collected is a little below the objective, Sophie Labelle insists on the importance of raising awareness of childhood cancer. She recalls that this disease is the leading cause of death from illness among young people, and that the funds collected are essential to develop innovative and specific treatments. Raising awareness is a key issue in order to increase awareness and mobilize more support.

Next meeting, “L’clair day” in November with the pastry chefs

The fight against childhood cancer does not stop there. In November 2024, a new operation will this time involve pastry chefs and company restaurants, with the “L’clair day” event. A gourmet and supportive moment, where professionals are invited to mobilize for this noble cause which we will talk about soon, in “A great team“.
