The Avenue des Champs-Élysées will be transformed into an open-air podium to celebrate the athletes of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games on Saturday, September 14, 2024. This parade of champions will mark the end of the festivities of this exceptional summer. Nearly 200 Olympic athletes and around 150 Paralympic athletes are expected to walk up the Champs-Élysées. On the French side, there will be 182 Olympic representatives, including 78 medalists and 137 Paralympic athletes, including 50 medalists. “We call it the 5th ceremony among us,” Thierry Reboul, the director of ceremonies, told TF1. This unique event will bring together not only athletes, but also the public. 70,000 people are expected, including 40,000 at Place de l’Étoile and 30,000 at the top of the famous avenue. The lucky winners will therefore be able to attend the festivities for free, which promise to be the ultimate highlight of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. The ceremony will also be broadcast live on TF1 from 4 p.m., disrupting the usual programming schedule for the occasion.
Spectators and viewers will be able to expect a grandiose and moving show according to the director of ceremonies. “We are trying to apply the same ingredients to this day as for the four ceremonies this summer: surprise, emotion and sharing”.
