Shock for this mother. On Thursday, August 29, 2024, Cécile Lemaire picked up her 11-year-old son after a week at a summer camp. Having left Oissy (Somme) on August 23, 2024, Jean spent a week in Camaret-sur-Mer (Finistère) as part of a stay organized by the ENJ, an organization mandated by the Sommes Sud Ouest Community of Communes (CC2SO). But when she returned, she found her son covered in bruises. “I picked him up with a black eye,” she explained to France Bleu Picardie. With no response from the hosts, she then questioned her son, who ended up confessing to her the hell he had been put through by a small group of boys, aged 12 and 13, who had hit him and threatened to kill him. “He is woken up with slaps. Every time there is a break, he is beaten with flip-flops and shoes,” she continued. The violence took place in particular in the showers and bedrooms, which were not supervised by the activity leaders. Harassed, the little boy therefore preferred not to wash in the living room in an attempt to protect himself.

“Luckily I did boxing,” said the 11-year-old boy, recounting how he managed to dodge his group of attackers and thus avoid the worst. “They force him to get on all fours and they try to pull down his pants. […] He then hid in a bush until the evening,” continued Cécile, explaining that the boy had not gone to the refectory that same evening. A situation that the leaders did not (…)
