A few days before the start of the Vendée Globe, a major sponsor is found murdered in Les Sables d’Olonne. Your character, Judith Kamara, is in charge of the investigation. Who is she?

Marie-Josée Croze: She is a local girl who knows the sailing world well. This investigation in her hometown will plunge her back into a painful past. Judith is an atypical policewoman but appreciated by her superiors. A loner who works instinctively and directly, even if it means sometimes appearing a little messy.

To carry out the investigations, we will associate him with Olivier Finet, a lieutenant played by Tom Leeb, who seems to be his opposite…

Indeed, everything seems to separate them. He is elegant and delicate, Judith, unpretentious and rough. She is a go-getter when he is rather thoughtful. As the story progresses, they will learn to know each other, to respect each other and finally to form a complementary duo.

How was your collaboration with Tom Leeb?

I didn’t know him at all. I discovered an intelligent, funny, talented, very involved boy. He’s a young actor in full development who can go very far.

You were familiar with the sailing racing world before filming this. Did you do any specific preparation?

Not at all. I’m not the type to do an internship in a police station or a sailing school to embody a character. Before a shoot, I will rather devote myself to a preparation based on sport and yoga to arrive in top shape on the set. I approach my roles instinctively, I trust the direction of the actors. I have no problem playing emotional scenes. You just have to believe in what you’re doing. The hardest thing in our profession is to perform simple everyday actions with the greatest naturalness. We see actors who are supposed to be at home and who seem hesitant and laborious when opening a window.
