Two men stabbed near Saint-Antoine

Two men are in hospital after being stabbed on Friday morning in the Saint-Antoine region, near Bouctouche.

According to Corporal Ricky Leblond, the Richibucto Detachment of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) received a call around 12:50 a.m. Thursday night.

The two men were taken to hospital to have their injuries treated, but there is no fear for their lives, said Corporal Leblond.

The law enforcement investigation is continuing and the RCMP invites citizens with information about this case to contact them.

Benoît Bourque invites the population to be on the lookout, but reminded that taking the law into your own hands is illegal and dangerous.

I am going to appeal directly to the Minister of Security to see if we cannot do more in terms of protection, in terms of RCMPhe said. There are challenges in terms of the presence of the RCMPnot just in Saint-Antoine but I would even say in the whole county of Kent. There are recruitment challenges, there are also challenges of cost increases.
