Then at the wheel, the Spaniard Jesus Gijon explained his misadventure at the microphone of the local production. “ Honestly, I don’t know what happened. I was riding very slowly, but I lost control and once in the grass I had no chance of recovering. On Friday, I had done two climbs without any problem, at the same speed. This time, maybe I made a mistake, or I ran on oil. The damage is fortunately light, the repairs should not take too long to carry out. This car has a lot of value, but we’re going to fix it and we’ll keep it going! »

A few minutes later, a 1990 Leyton-House Judd CG901 went into the background at the same location. The single-seater, imagined by the genius designer Adrian Newey and adorned with an unforgettable sky blue dress, was piloted by Richard Hope, a gentleman-driver specializing in historic races such as the Grand Prix de Monaco Historique. The Englishman owns several classic cars, such as a 1980 F1 Shadow DN11.

Richard Hope escaped unscathed, unlike the Leyton-House, badly damaged in its rear part. The cause of this accident has not yet been determined, but the presence of a puddle of oil cannot be ruled out.

After an interruption of the session, a BMW M1 Procar ended up in the wall of straw bales, like the Hyundai Iconiq 6 on Friday. Its pilot Steven Osborne, also a gentleman-driver, was not injured. To top it off, a rare 1998 Porsche 911 GT1 broke its rear wing while kissing the side of the road.
